Wetterhorn: A Glimpse Through the Mist

About

In the heart of the Swiss Alps, the Wetterhorn stands tall, a rugged giant veiled in mist and mystery. This peak is a landmark of the region, drawing adventurers and nature enthusiasts alike. Named in the early 19th century, “Wetterhorn” translates to “weather peak,” a nod to the unpredictable atmospheric conditions that often cloak its summit.

This picture was made in January 2024 and it wasn’t easy to reach the spot amidst heavy rain, fog, and slippery trails, but the result was worth it!

Interesting fact: the renowned poet and philosopher Johann Wolfgang von Goethe mentioned the Wetterhorn in his famous work “Faust,” immortalizing the mountain in literature and contributing to its enduring cultural significance.
